"Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be."
--George Sheehan
I'm going to be honest. I've been struggling lately. Anyone who has kept on track with my journey knows I've been dealing with the scale from hell, and it's been bringing me down. But it wasn't the scale's fault.
Whose was it?
MINE.
(CLICK BELOW TO READ THE REST!!)
I've been having a tough time with a fear of not succeeding. I go so much by getting the scale down in time to reach my goal in February. I've been only seeing that one day on the calendar as the day that will determine whether I've succeeded.
You know what? That's bull. Just because I don't make a goal doesn't mean I haven't succeeded. There isn't one moment that will define my success of this journey. This whole process is successful. From the day I chose to make a commitment to myself, my future, and those around me, I succeeded. Just because I have slip-ups doesn't mean I've failed. We are all only human. Getting myself back on the right track is another way of proving to myself that I AM succeeding.
Nobody said this whole process was going to be easy. I have a LOT of weight to lose, and I am sure many people reading this do as well. It does take courage to admit there's something you need to fix. That's just the first step, though. You also need to possess that determination to get started on your journey and MAKE yourself better.
The other key component in success, as Sheehan states, is the will to become who you were meant to be. I hear a lot of women who are trying to lose weight say, "The outside of my body and inside of my mind don't match." I've felt the exact same way! I feel like nobody sees beyond my outer shell.
I decided to change that! You can, too. Become who you were meant to be! You are beautiful, no matter what size. But if you want to be healthier (inside and out), I KNOW you have the courage, determination, and will to succeed.
So don't pinpoint your success on one single moment. As long as you are trying to your best potential, you are a success.
