Tip of the Week 1

Another new idea. We'll see if it sticks? I'm going to try and find websites, books, ideas, etc. that might be helpful in someone else's weight loss.

This week, Hungry-girl.com was recommended to me on the Sparkpeople message boards. I went to check it out, and I found it has some awesome information from Lisa, a girl who makes no claims as a dietician, but as a hungry girl. She can relate to a lot of women out there who want to eat tasty foods but can't quite fit junk food in there. (CLICK LINK BELOW TO CONTINUE POST!)

In her news section, she includes all things new and interesting in the health food world. From Starbucks menu additions to food recalls to free stuff for readers, she's on top of it.

The "Chew the Right Thing" section has lots of yummy looking recipes. It lists many calorie-packed favorites along with recipes for a healthier alternative. There's a pepperoni pizza recipe that has my mouth watering already.

If you're looking for diet or nutrition advice, you should head to the "Ask Hungry Girl" section. She has lots of questions she has answered. What I like is that some of them pertain to fast food restaurants, and I'm always looking for ways to be sneaky about eating healthy when on the go.

Opinions are the topic in the "Weekly Weigh-In" section. Lots of solid advice, opinions, polls, ideas, etc. There are so many little things you'd never find in the health-food magazines, like what the best hot dog for you is. Lovin' it!

And last, but not least, is the "Girls Bite Out" section. This Hungry Girl doesn't expect you to stay in on the weekends hiding from junk food and drinks just because you're on a diet. She gives good alternatives for weekend foods, drinks, etc. You have to check that one out.

I signed up for the daily e-mail newsletter. I think that will have lots of great info in it for all of us Hungry Girls.

Okay, so I've had my say. The link is above in the post and also in my right-hand links bar.

...So what are you waiting for? Get over there! And let me know if you find any good recipes or things you really like!
