Picture Post #1

I've decided to possibly start doing a weekly picture post. Maybe a couple times a week? I dunno. Depends on how "into" this I can get. I really want to document many different aspects of my weight loss journey. And this seems like one more way to get with it.

Today's shall only have a few pictures. Just to get the hang of it, I suppose.

I've been working hard at eating smaller portion sizes, especially when it comes to unhealthy foods. This is tough, especially when you work at an ice cream shop. I'm very proud of myself. Each day I've worked this week, I've only had a very small portion of ice cream. We have what are called "doggie dishes." They are tiny cups that we put a little dollop of ice cream in for customers' dogs. And, you guessed it: that's what I've been eating! (Not that I am comparable to a canine.) I LOVE "dirt and worm surprises." They consist of chocolate ice cream with gummi worms, oreos, and Hershey's syrup. I didn't ever think about making "mini" ones until yesterday. The results were fantastic. They were all I needed to satisfy my sweets craving for the day.

I've found one great way to make yourself feel better. Like I said in yesterday's update, I did Relay for Life last night. They had a silent auction, and my mom bid on an early birthday present for me: a manicure/pedicure basket. Well, she won! Just for me. And I did my nails. Nothing like a hot pink job on your nails to get you feeling girlier in a quick fix.

And this next one makes me giggle. I was telling my boyfriend, Jordan, about my dirt/worm deal. And how you don't need much ice cream to get a little fix. As long as you eat it slowly, it doesn't matter how much you have. What does he say in reply?
*points to his ice cream cup* "Can I go get some more?"
Oh, honey. You make me laugh.

So there's your picture post for now, friends! I'm hoping this is one more way to enhance my journey for myself and for anyone who may happen to read this in the future. (I haven't decided how public I'll let this go yet.)
